Design of our flyer!

Today in the lesson, we did designs on our orange tree café brief. We did two, one was a orange tree and hanging off the branches was pictures of the food, and in the routes there were information on the café, we thought that this would be best as a poster, this is because it had a lot going on and you could not fit that much information on this. But we all liked it so we are still going to use it, just as something else. Are second idea was a simple flyer that had some pretty drawings, they were simple but nice to look at. It could fit a lot of information on it but it diddent look cramped. I was really happy that we chose this one because it was my idea.

After this we went on the computer and we researched it and all the shops around it. The orange tree café was good because it was in the centre of town and it diddent really have much competition which is good! After this we tried to find some statistics because then we would know what the kind of people would go in but we found this really hard because there was not that much information on Cambridge and the town centre. So we made do and we tried to make the flyers and the posters available to anyone and make everyone see that it is a good café.

Because of this we went back and made the flyer a bit less feminine and made it so it would appeal to everyone. We tried to fit in the logo but we found this hard because when we tried to it always made it not that good. So we decided to do the poster with it but the flyer with out. We all had copies and put them in a folder. We did this because this is just the start and if we do a blow by blow account of what we did then the examiner can find it easier to look out and find out how we came about doing this.

Research and The Orange Tree cafe

In this lesson i mainly did research on campaigns; i looked at how different campaigns used different approaches. some peaceful but other went on protests that got violent when they didn't need to be. lots of the main bigger names used TV advert, these where good but lots of them were shocking or violent.

some small groups struggled to find people to help them because they were not very big! people thought that if they were not big then they couldn't be that important.
after lunch we went to the orange tree cafe and had a look around i thought the outside did not really go with the inside and the outside looked not very cosy. we were given a brief to make an A5 flyer for the cafe, i was happy about this because we actually got to promote it! i was just thinking a simple flyer so it will be easy to read... not anything to complicated.

Food

In this lesson we looked at food photography, at first i though that this would be very easy and quite obvious what we had to do. but after i did some research i think that it is harder then it looks!

Food photography is used widely; there are lots of places where it can be found. Mostly  advertising. Different places where it can be found is menus – this is so the food looks more appetising to the person. But it can go wrong, if the food looks bad or the lighting is not satisfactory, if it is out of proportion lots of these mistakes can be easily done!

as you can see in the picture below this is an example of it gone wrong which i think makes it look very bad!

i think that the reason why this looks very bad is because, the lighting is very bad it is dark and dingy which are some of the main reasons why it can go wrong.

when i looked at some of the ones that looked good i could see why...

i think that the main reason why it looks good is because of the background it is plain and bright and makes the food stand out more! you can almost be drawn to the food if it is nicely photographed which is can

easier to do if you takes steps to make it more appetising

campaingins

today in the lesson we researched about campaingins, this was good because i learnt allot and how some people were so commited to there point. after that we looked at how they addvertised it we looked at the pictures and the posters, you can ell that the people who were doing the campaingins were so commited to the -r6b3e0 6r the th5ng that they wanted to change.

First day at parkside.

this was our firat day at parkside and we talked about what we were going to do in our unit. we started off by doing some research on project services. we went on the computer and i looked on videos and on wiki. i found quite. after that we got a bag with ramdom things in it and we had to come up with a way to sell them. i found out all the prices and thought that it would be a good idea if we did it in packs. this was good because mr hind said that more people would buy it!
